Fostering Research into Family History
Formed as the Genealogical Society of Tasmania in 1980, in 2001 we became
the Tasmanian Family History Society Inc. and now have five branches across
the state. The aims and objectives of the Society are to:
- promote the study and research of the science of genealogy and
family history through education, preservation and transcribing of
relevant records, and the writing and publishing of appropriate
literature
- provide, as a public service, reference libraries and associated
learning opportunities and
- the doing of all such lawful things as are incidental and conducive
to the attainment of the basic aims and objectives of the Society
This website provides an overview of the Society and its resources, and
how to access them, along with contact details and convenient links to each
of the Society's branch websites.
