The constitution is made up of two parts, the rules and the by-laws.  The rules are the essential part, and, as an incorporated body, they are approved by the Tasmanian Department of Consumer Affairs.  Any alterations must be approved by a general meeting of the society and by the Department of Consumer Affairs.  The by-laws may be altered by a majority vote at a meeting of the society executive.  Only the rules are shown here.  The by-laws may be viewed at any branch library.  All new members should be given a copy of the constitution.
